General labor / construction duties
-Help repair and maintain mains, valves and hydrants;
-Perform routine maintenance of mechanical equipment;
-Help maintain buildings and grounds;

-Qualified candidates will have a minimum of three years related experience;
-Wisconsin Class B CDL;
-Ability to respond to emergencies in 30 minutes.

-Update billing software with customer information.

-Proven proficiency in Microsoft programs and ability to learn other software;
-Strong oral and written communication skills.

NEWS FLASH: WATER MAIN BREAK - Thursday, July 18, 2019
If you are currently experiencing rusty colored water or low water pressure, this is due to a water main break by St. Paul and Wisconsin Ave. Last night, around 10:00 p.m., there was a huge water main break. Utility crews are currently repairing this break. Fortunately, at this point, no one is without water; however, there are some customers who may experience low water pressure or discolored water.


The discolored water is safe and caused by naturally occurring minerals being stirred up within the water mains. If you have rusty colored water, we recommend the following:

*Run the cold water in your sinks or showers until the water runs clear.

*Only after water returns to normal should laundry and other water projects be resumed.

We will put an update on our website, letting people know when the repair has been fixed.

Please refer to the press release for a public safety announcement regarding subjects posing as water utility workers. This type of scam is not just specific to Waukesha but is being reported in other communities as well.

SAFETY REMINDER:
If Waukesha Water Utility staff are working in your area and need access to your home, we will ALWAYS have proper identification and be in a vehicle clearly marked, Waukesha Water Utility. On a rare occasion, we may need to notify you of a water situation (water main break) and come to your front door unannounced, however, we would never ask to enter your home without an appointment.

FOR YOUR SAFETY, if someone comes to your door and claims to be an employee of a Waukesha Water Utility:
· You do NOT have to open your door
· Waukesha Water Utility workers wear fluorescent vests or blue uniforms with their name and our utility logo on the front
· Ask them to show their identification
· Call us at (262) 521-5272 to verify

If you are suspicious of anyone coming to your home asking for access, call your local police.
