Language connects us, and our Spanish Heritage 2 students are making those connections stronger every day! 💬 Our students are diving into "Types of Relationships in Society,” exploring family, friendships, school, work, and community connections, all while building their Spanish communication skills.

Through collaborative activities, meaningful discussions, and written practice, students are:
✨ Expanding their Spanish vocabulary
🤝 Strengthening collaboration and communication
💡 Expressing their ideas with confidence
❤️ Reflecting on respect, equality, and positive relationships
🌎 Connecting Spanish learning to their everyday lives

We’re proud to see our students learning together, communicating confidently, and building connections in Spanish!

Did you know that this year, the beloved Dog Pound at Waukegan High School turns 100 years old?

One of the most historic and renowned high school gyms in the state of Illinois is getting ready for a BIG birthday celebration on December 9, when our basketball teams host Mundelein for what promises to be the state’s biggest birthday party!

We’re planning a series of events leading up to the Big Day and would love for Bulldogs past and present to get involved in the planning and celebration.

Want to be part of the celebration? See Coach Ashlaw at Washington Campus for more information.

Our Work-Based Learning Program and SkillsUSA proudly hosted our first “Health Care Is Calling Roadshow,” welcoming five representatives from Northwestern Medicine for an engaging conference focused on healthcare careers and career pathways.

With 32 students in attendance, the event introduced students to a wide range of healthcare careers, including opportunities that may not require extensive postsecondary education. Students learned about education and training pathways, potential earnings, career growth, and ways to gain valuable experience in the field.

Students were introduced to the Discovery Program, which offers high school students interested in healthcare opportunities for career exploration, hospital tours, guest speakers, professional development, networking, leadership, and community service.

Students also learned about volunteer opportunities with Northwestern Medicine, which can help them develop workplace skills, gain experience, meet new people, and explore the healthcare environment.

We are grateful to Northwestern Medicine for connecting with our students and sharing these valuable opportunities. We look forward to strengthening this partnership and continuing to provide our students with meaningful experiences and pathways toward careers in healthcare.
