Waukegan Firefighters IAFF Local 473 The Men and Women of the Waukegan Fire Department are professional Firefighters and members of the International Assocaition Firefighters Local 473.

We protect the nearly 100,000 citizens and business of the City of Waukegan 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. We are 110 members strong, operate out of 5 fire houses and have a minimum of 23 Union members on duty daily. Those members respond to over 10,500 calls annually.

RIP CJ.

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Fire Buddy Carlos (CJ).

While our time with CJ was too short, his loving spirit will continue to live on in our hearts.

Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with CJ’s family, friends, the Waukegan, IL Chapter and all who loved CJ.

CJ, you will always be part of the Project Fire Buddies family. Rest easy.

The Zion and Waukegan, IL Chapters teamed up to support our Fire Buddies at their annual golf outing this year. ⛳

❤️ These chapters did an amazing job raising $13,257 for kids who need it most. ❤️
