UPDATE: Repairs are complete and streetlights will resume functioning.

The streetlights on Main Street will not be functioning tonight due to needed repairs to wiring. Replacement parts are expected to arrive within the next one to two days. Repairs will be scheduled weather permitting later this week.

At tonight's Village Board meeting, Mayor Sode formally appointed the Village's new Chief of Police John Combs, who has served the Wauconda Police Department for 27 years, most recently serving as Deputy Chief.

The Village of Wauconda is also pleased to announce promotions in the Deputy Chief, Commander and Sergeant ranks.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Memorial Day is more than a long weekend or the unofficial start of summer, it is a time to reflect on the sacrifices made to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

As our community gathers for remembrance ceremonies and traditions throughout Wauconda, we encourage everyone to take a moment to honor those who never made it home and the families who continue to carry their memory forward.

Their courage, sacrifice, and service will never be forgotten.

Please join us tomorrow as the community comes together to honor and remember the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country.

🕙 Parade Start Time: 10:00 AM
📍 Route: The parade will begin at Wauconda High School and conclude at American Legion Post 911.

⚠️ Road Closure Notice:
Main Street and portions of Route 176 along the parade route will be temporarily closed during the event. Please plan for delays and use alternate routes if possible.

We encourage everyone to come out, show their support, and help us honor our nation’s heroes. 🇺🇸
