M💥Celebrate at the Castro Adobe🌟

🎉 Watch Grupo Folklórico Raíces Mestízas perform in the famous Fandango Room at the next Castro Adobe Open House on Sunday, Oct 13th from 10:30am to 3:30pm.

🎸Listen to live music from Cisco Jim astride his horse Taza and Bob Gomez, the poet laurate of Watsonville along with his wife Denise singing in the colorful Castro Garden. 👓This is also an opportunity to see the Adobe’s completed restoration as well as the newly installed interpretive exhibits. This historic two-story adobe hacienda, built in 1849 will offer you a glimpse into the vibrant lives, history and stories of the early Californian Hispanic families.

🏡Visit the Castro Adobe on Sunday. November 12th, for our open house event! Get a FREE 90-minute tour from interpreters of California State Parks and Docents. Explore the recent renovations and additions to the building’s interior while learning about the Castro family and their land, Rancho San Andres. Take a walk through the Potter-Church Garden and hear the stories that took place within the Adobe built in 1850! This event is put on by Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks and California State Parks and requires registration at https://santacruzstateparks.as.me/CastroAdobeOpenHouse

It's ! Over the years, the Castro Adobe has changed in appearance. Earthquakes damaged parts of the adobe forcing repairs, and renovations at the hands of various owners for the past 170 years have caused the adobe to look different through the ages.

Come on out to our next open house, scheduled for Sunday, May 7th, and learn about the adobe's history, from the time the Castros lived here to its modern restoration.

Save the date! What better way to spend a Saturday than exploring an over 170-year-old adobe home that belonged to one of the most prominent families of California?

Join us, Saturday, April 8, 2023, for our open house event at the Castro Adobe State Historic Park for a day of fun and learning. Explore the two-story adobe hacienda and learn about the Castro family, as well as what life was like on Rancho San Andres.
