Congratulations to our very own Kurt Spieler on his retirement from the Cheektowaga Police Department after 26 years of service!! Kurt was escorted home in one of WGI’s pace cars by track service’s member Nate Hoffman and track service’s incident commander Matt Coyne. Kurt is not only one of our firefighter/emts, but he’s also our lead training coordinator as well!! Thank you for everything you do Kurt and your dedication for the safety of others. Enjoy your well deserved retirement!! 🏁

Memorial Day: Remembering and honoring those that made the ultimate sacrifice 🇺🇸 Every Memorial Day weekend, our team takes a lap around the track to honor and remember those we lost.

In addition to our yearly lap, 8-Fire and 8-Cleanup led the procession to honor NASCAR driver Kyle Busch after the news of his sudden passing earlier this week. The numbers of the trucks symbolizing Kyle’s car number and both Chevy and Toyota symbolizing both of the manufacturers Kyle represented heavily throughout his racing career.

We’re absolutely shocked and saddened to hear about the sudden passing of Kyle Busch… Our thoughts go out to the Busch family and the entire NASCAR community

We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport's greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old.

We extend our deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and the entire motorsports community.

Another NASCAR weekend is officially in the books and all we can say is thank you to all of the track services team members that helped make this event such a success! Several hours are put into this event by the team before, during, and even after the event. Everyone’s hard work and dedication to this team doesn’t go unnoticed and we thank all of you for being able to be here for this weekend.

It’s only the beginning of the season and we’re just getting started 😎 Several more fun events still to come at The Glen and we can’t wait!
