Meeting notes from the previous two meetings 4/6 and 5/4

A resident off of Van Eden road needed to know how to go about getting their private road renamed instead of being part of Van Eden. There are now multiple residents down the private road that it would be more convenient and for safety concerns.

We are looking to impose a fine for dumping materials that we do not accept at our our convenience center.

A resident came to state concerns about tractor trailers that were overweight and other vehicles coming around the s-curve where Anderson and Mary Slocum meet. Concerns for safety due to tractor trailers running other vehicles off the road and damaging the road itself. Please note that this is a state road and the town of Watha can only call the state for these concerns. We the town do not have the ability to maintain or restrict vehicles on the road. Please call the state directly with your concerns. The more eyes and ears that we have on the issue will bring attention to addressing the problem quicker. Thank you.

A warm welcome and congratulations to our newest commissioners, Sam Miller and Rachel Stadsvold. Everyone was sworn in on the 1st.

A vote was passed to pay the town audit bill of $7750.

There are cameras installed at the dump now. A couch was recently left at the dump site. Furniture of any kind is not accepted at our small dump. Metal, appliances, furniture, and construction material are not to be placed at the town dump. 11/04/2025

Meeting minutes from 11/3

The town is going to look into getting updated zoning maps from GIS.

There is no update on when Camp Kirkwood will be paved. It has been patched and contracted out to a different company to repave.

The DOT came out to look at the tight corner on Mary Slocum and repainted lines bright yellow so that everyone is aware of the spikes on the corner property. It is that individual's private property and they have a right to have the spikes. Be mindful when taking the corner to pay attention.

Today is voting for the municipal election in Town Hall. Get out and vote.
