⚠MOSQUITO CONTROL NOTICE ⚠

In partnership with the Williams County Vector Control District, the United States Air Force Reserve 910th Airlift Wing will be conducting wide-area aerial larvicide treatments between May 26, 2026, and June 5, 2026, weather permitting.

Treatments will focus on riparian areas along the Missouri River south and southeast of Williston to help reduce mosquito populations before they become biting adults.

Residents may notice large military aircraft flying at low elevations during daytime hours while treatments are taking place. Please note that treatments will NOT be applied over populated areas.

The larvicide being used is VectoBac 12AS, an EPA-approved product for residential use that targets mosquito larvae using the active ingredient Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti).

Thank you for your cooperation as these efforts help protect public health and improve outdoor conditions for our communities.

24TH AVENUE SW ROAD CLOSURE UPDATE:

The road closure on 24th Avenue SW will be extended to June 4th.

24TH AVENUE SW ROAD CLOSURE

24th Avenue SW will be closed starting tomorrow (Wednesday, May 13th) through Wednesday, May 27th. The road will be open to local traffic only from 0.5 miles east of Main Street South to the western most approach of the McKenzie County Athletic Park. The road will be completely closed at the east bridge so that it may be replaced. A detour route will be provided.

The Correctional Facility staff are responsible for the care, custody, and supervision of inmates while maintaining a secure and professional environment. Their work includes monitoring daily operations, ensuring safety within the facility, and upholding policies and procedures with professionalism and respect.
They also work closely with local law enforcement agencies, providing support through inmate intake, transportation, and coordination to help ensure the justice system runs smoothly and efficiently throughout the county.
