🚧 WORK ZONE? MAKE THE 3-S CHECK. 🚧

Construction season means slower traffic, changing lanes, heavy equipment and unexpected stops. Before you roll through a work zone, remember the 3 S’s:

🐢 SPEED
• Slow down as you approach a work zone — it arrives faster than you think.
• Follow the posted work zone speed limit, even when you don’t see workers.
• Don’t speed back up until the signs tell you the work zone has ended.

💰 AND HERE’S A COSTLY REMINDER:
If workers are present in a work zone, speeding can come with a $150 fine.

That’s $150 you could keep in your pocket — and, more importantly, slowing down helps protect the people working just feet from traffic. 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️

↔️ SPACE
• Leave extra following distance between you and the vehicle ahead.
• Don’t tailgate or pass on the shoulder.
• Be ready for sudden stops, lane shifts or changes in traffic patterns.

👀 STAY ALERT
• Plan ahead and expect delays.
• Give yourself extra time so you don’t feel rushed.
• Put the distractions away and give the road your full attention.

🚧 WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT IN A WORK ZONE?

You may encounter:
➡️ Narrow or shifted lanes
➡️ Uneven pavement or loose gravel
➡️ Heavy equipment entering or exiting the roadway
➡️ Flaggers directing traffic
➡️ Short-term or mobile work zones — even when workers aren’t immediately visible

Keep following the posted signs until you see the sign telling you that you’ve left the work zone.

❤️ WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Those cones and barricades aren’t just obstacles in the road. Work zone crews are often just feet away from moving traffic — and they’re someone’s family member, friend or neighbor.

🚨 Slow down. Leave space. Stay alert.

Save the $150. Protect the workers. Get where you’re going safely. 👮‍♂️🚧
