National Prairie Day is celebrated each year on the first Saturday in June, and in 2026 it falls on June 6. This day highlights the beauty, value, and ecological importance of North America’s prairies while encouraging awareness, conservation, and restoration efforts, and for NRCS North Dakota, it connects directly to the work we do every day through our conservation programs, technical assistance, and partnerships that help protect native grasslands and support healthy prairie ecosystems across the state.
