He graduated from Watervliet High School, Hudson Valley Community College and is a 1976 graduate of Siena College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Management. He spent more than 30 years working in the public sector and is best known for turning the Watervliet Housing Authority into an award-winning residence for thousands of Arsenal City residents. Patricelli was one of the

youngest housing directors in the country when promoted to the position in 1982. Patricelli is also well-versed in the day-to-day operations of running a small city. He was employed at Watervliet City Hall in 1977 and filled several roles while working as Director of the Home Improvement Program and later as Deputy General Manager.

For the 17th annual "I Love My Library" Dinner, we will be honoring the late Mayor Carlson!

Calling all library lovers! You are cordially invited to the "I Love My Library" fundraising dinner, a delightful evening in support of the Watervliet Public Library. Mark your calendars for October 25th and prepare for a night of delicious food, great company, and exciting raffle prizes! We thank On The Hill Cafe (143 Troy-Schenectady Rd, Watervliet) for catering this year's event. Dinner is at 6 at the Watervliet-Colonie Elks Club (501 4th Ave, Watervliet).

This is a fantastic opportunity to connect with other supporters of the library, share your love for books, celebrate one of Watervliet's esteemed Mayors, and contribute to a worthy cause. As we come together to celebrate and support the Watervliet Public Library, we promise an evening filled with fun, laughter, and community spirit.

This year’s dinner will be held in honor of Robert D. Carlson, former mayor of Watervliet.
Mayor Carlson served Watervliet for over 10 years and has had a lasting impact on our community. He started community traditions like the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and was the recipient of the Watervliet Senior Citizens Center “Humanitarian” award. Mayor Carlson loved the New York Giants, the yearly 4th of July party, and the City of Watervliet. The Library is excited to honor his accomplishments at the “I Love My Library” dinner.
