Memorial Day weekend usually marks the unofficial start of summer in Maine.

After months of pretending 45 degrees was “not that bad,” pools start filling, camps begin opening, lawns green up, and outdoor projects get underway after a long winter.

Summer activities also bring increased water use across homes, businesses, and communities throughout the region.

We're proud to keep that water flowing for you all summer long. Here's to warmer days ahead.

Spring and Summer sports are in full swing (pun slightly intended)

Staying hydrated helps athletes stay focused, energized, and ready throughout practices and games.
A good reminder for game days:
• Drink water before heading to the field
• Keep sipping throughout the game
• Rehydrate after the final inning

Many athletes may need:
• 16-20 oz. of water a few hours before activity
• 7-10 oz. every 10-20 minutes during activity
• Extra water afterward to help recover.

A water bottle might be one of the most important pieces of gear in the bag this season.

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As we spend time with family and friends this weekend, we'd like to take a pause to reflect on the courage, service, and sacrifice that made these moments possible. We also want to thank those who continue to serve today.

As spring temperatures rise, your pets feel it too. Fresh water is essential to keep them cool, comfortable, and healthy during warmer days outdoors. Using a larger water bowl and setting up multiple hydration spots around your home or yard can help make sure they always have easy access.
