πŸŒ³πŸ’š Farewell to Ellie the Elm πŸ’šπŸŒ³

Join us as we gather to honor a beloved part of our downtown landscape β€” Ellie the Elm. Standing strong for over 150 years, Ellie is the last remaining elm tree in downtown and has witnessed generations of memories, stories, and community life.

πŸ“… Event Date: June 16, 2026
πŸ•’ Time: 2:30 PM
πŸ“ Location: Castonguay Square

This will be a time to come together, share memories, and celebrate Ellie’s life before she is removed. Whether you’ve passed by her shade every day or simply appreciate the history she represents, all are welcome.

Let’s give Ellie the tribute she deserves.

Ticonic Bridge Notice Reminder
A message from MaineDOT

Starting on Tuesday May 26th, 2026, at 12AM, through June 29th, 2026, at 6 AM, the project will be closing the Ticonic bridge to all traffic for construction activities requiring access to the entire bridge. During this time, pedestrians and vehicles will NOT be allowed to transit the bridge. Both pedestrians and vehicles will be required to follow the posted detour routes. The detour routes can be found in the traffic control drawings on the MaineDOT website (Plans F-H). Message boards will be used to warn drivers of the closure.

On June 29th, 2026 at 6 a.m., the bridge will re-open to both eastbound and westbound traffic. Daily single lane closures and nightly full closures may be required throughout the summer and fall to complete construction of the new bridge.
