Attention Waterville Residents-We were notified by a contractor working for the Maine DOT that they are installing cameras throughout Waterville over the next few days at approximately 60 locations monitoring traffic flow and counting cars. These cameras will be in place at each location for approximately 24-48 hours and then removed. These cameras have nothing to do with the Waterville Police Department, are not Flock Cameras and it was told to us that the cameras are doing the same function as the rubber markers you used to drive over throughout town in the past. The vehicle doing the work has yellow flashing lights and New York plates. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

***Attention Waterville Residents*** This Friday, September 4th, Main Street will be closed from Temple Street to Spring Street from Noon until 8PM for the Fifty Years of Common Ground Kick-Off Block Party, which will be happening from 4-7PM. People who are in the downtown will still be able to exit through Common Street and Spring Street until 3PM and then the entire area will be closed down for the event. Waterville FD had a great team of participants at the Tunnels to Towers 5k Run and Walk in Portland today.

Born from the tragedy of 9/11, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation carries forward a legacy of courage and heroism. Built upon the mantra, “While we have time, LET US DO GOOD,” the Foundation supports our nation’s fallen and catastrophically injured first responders, military heroes, and their families.

The 2026 Waterville ATV Glow Ride! Thanks to all the motorists for your patience as this worked its way through town and we hope all those participating had a great time. A big thank you to Waterville Fire - Rescue for the Birds Eye view from atop Tower 1. What an amazing view of the City and the glow ride!

**Traffic Advisory**

This Saturday, August 15th will be the 2026 Waterville Glow Ride. The ride itself will begin between 7:45 and 8pm. This will impact traffic for about 25-35 minutes as it makes its way through the downtown area. This year's ride benefits the Fairfield Interfaith Food Pantry, Waterville PD's Operation Hope and local ATV trails. For more information, check out 2026 Central Maine Glow ride by CMATV club
