This morning the Waterville Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched for a vehicle fire in the 8,000 block of N Rte 44. While enroute county advised units of a commercial vehicle with a tire on fire. Operator of the vehicle used an extinguisher to contain the flames until units arrived. Damage was limited to one set of tires on the truck.

8/14/26- The Waterville Volunteer Fire Company and JSEMS were dispatched for a land search on the Golden Eagle trail. Update after responding was two hikers approximately 2.5 miles up the trail, and one of them will need assistance getting down the trail. Using GPS coordinates provided it was determined that they were near the Ravens Horn viewing area, staging was set on Route 414 near the trail head. WVFC members along with DCNR Ranger Engle hiked to meet up with the individuals. ATV 28 was able travel approximately half way up the trail and waited for the the individuals to descend the trail to their location to assist with patient removal. Citizens Hose Company of Jersey Shore was added to the incident for additional manpower to assist with patient removal if needed. Rescue 45 crew was held in staging and released once crews started back down the mountain and it was determined they wouldn’t be needed. 8/13/26 - The WVFC was dispatched to assist with setting up a landing zone for Life Flight during a medical emergency.

8/1- Waterville VFC was dispatched for an ATV fire on the Haneyville ATV trail system. Location was only accessible by ATV and on foot. The ATV was a total loss, crews extinguished what was left burning when we arrived, assisted the owner in removing the debris and cleanup on the trail system. Haneyville VFC and DCNR Forest Rangers assisted at the scene.

7/28/2026 - WVFC was dispatched to an MVA, vehicle rolled over with unknown injuries. Thankfully the driver was uninjured, crews remained on scene to assist the tow company and clean up debris.

Tanker 128 assisted in the water tanker shuttle while crews worked to extinguish the barn fire this morning along the river road in Jersey Shore.
