Pictured with Officer Saylor is Bob Becker of LAW Publications. Bob will be visiting local businesses seeking sponsorships for our Community Safety Program, which helps provide important safety information and educational materials to our residents.

Thank you for your continued support in helping keep our community informed and safe.

Congratulations to the Waterville Branch Library on 100 years of service, education, and community connection.

Officer Saylor was honored to join the celebration and see the incredible community support for this outstanding institution. We are grateful to have been part of this special milestone and thank the library for a century of learning, literacy, and service.

UPDATE: The roadways are back open. Toledo Edison is still working on both locations. There are barricades and caution tape restricting pedestrian travel in the immediate area where the power line incidents were.

------------------------------------------------------

We have multiple power lines down in the area.

Farnsworth Rd is closed at Ohio St and Pennsylvania Ave.

South Street/S Fifth Street is closed at the intersection to AW Trail and Farnsworth Rd respectively.

This is causing power outages and traffic control issues. Mechanic Street and N. River Road traffic light is out. Use this intersection as a four way stop.

Please avoid these areas

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage and dedication to protecting our freedoms inspire us all. As we gather with loved ones, let us take a moment to remember the true meaning of the weekend.

We only have afternoon session spots remaining!!

Why Waterville Safety City?
Since 2023 we have:
-Replaced all of the mock buildings with new ones build, painted, and designed by previous Anthony Wayne High School students.
- Replaced our 20+ year old mat with a new, professionally and custom made mock mat with more learning opportunities.
- All instructors now have to be certified AWLS teachers.
- Increased our support in the community with the help of the Waterville Area Chamber of Commerce.
- Added more partnerships for the various safety topics. We have more guests come in to help enhance the safety topic of their field.
- Replaced our entire curriculum with more modern instruction.

We have many great changes we are looking forward to in the future. We do all of these changes because we want the best possible program for our community. Please consider spreading the word of our program so we may impact as many kids as possible.

The Waterville Police Department had a great time supporting Bike to School! Officers enjoyed seeing students ride safely to school while promoting healthy habits, exercise, and bicycle safety throughout our community.

We also captured a quick video from the ride to give everyone a behind-the-scenes look at the fun and excitement of the morning commute!

A reminder to all drivers: please stay alert, slow down in school zones, and share the road safely with our young riders.

Great job to all the students who participated!
