🌟 Celebrating Community and Service in Black River! 🌟

We’re thrilled to share the success of our recent "Brush with Kindness" event in Black River! Over four inspiring days on July 11th, 12th, 18th, and 19th, we teamed up with 7 amazing youth volunteers from Carthage Central School and the Hard Hat Camp to make a positive impact right here in our community.

One of the highlights of the event was helping our elderly neighbor by moving a bed downstairs, allowing them to continue enjoying their home without the challenge of climbing stairs. It’s these meaningful, personal touches that truly make a difference.

In addition to this special project, we worked alongside the Village of Black River Department of Public Works to beautify and uplift public spaces, you should go check out the new mulch at the playgrounds! From refreshing paint - the pump house looks great! Every brushstroke and effort contributed to a better community.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported this initiative! Your dedication and hard work embody the true spirit of giving back.

Thousand Islands Area Habitat for Humanity is thrilled to announce our partnership with the Village of Black River and Carthage Middle School to bring the Hard Hat Camp to the Village of Black River! 🛠️🏡
This summer, on July 11th, 12th, 18th, and 19th, we’ll be working alongside the Department of Public Works (DPW) and their crew to provide an incredible learning experience about working in a municipality.
We are currently looking for elderly residents who need help with yard work or small construction projects.
A HUGE shout out to Mayor David Leonard for helping coordinate this amazing initiative! 🙌
