🗓️BIG NEWS, WATERTOWN & SURROUNDING COMMUNITIES! 👟🔥

The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) for Special Olympics is officially coming to WATERTOWN! This event is in direct tribute to our incredible WM Unified Team & all they have accomplished!

Let's pack the streets & stadium to show them the power of our communities!

Here's what you need to know to join the celebration:

🚒 The Route & Celebration Times:
7:55 AM | The Kickoff: Line the streets starting at the Watertown Fire Department! Cheer on the runners and the MN Unified Interscholastic Basketball team, who will be riding in style in the fire trucks!

8:20 AM | The Ceremony: Head over to the WMHS Stadium for the official Igniting Inclusion ceremony.

✨ Ceremony Highlights:
🎵 National Anthem: Sung by WM Alum Clara Mandt, featuring the local WM Legion Color Guard.

🛩️Special Fly Over by Russ Runck & Friends

🎤 Guest Speakers: WMHS Principal Hennen, Mayor Walters, State Rep. Bobbie Harder, and a special speaker from LETR!

🗺️ Check out the map below to find the best spots to line the streets, wave your signs, and cheer & don't forget to come to the stadium to fill the bleachers!

The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics is TOMORROW morning, June 18th!👟

🛩️One of the highlights of the special ceremony at the WMHS Stadium is an incredible Flyover! Special shoutout to these 5 amazing pilots: Preston Palmer, Walt Fricke, Scott Grieger, Gregg Geiger, and Russ Runck!

🏀Our WM Unified Basketball Team Schedule is OUT!! 🗓️

This amazing team is on to the Unified Special Olympics hosted HERE starting on Monday, June 22nd!! 🤩

All games are played at the RecWell on the U of MN campus and are… FREE!! 🆓

Game 1: Mon. 6.22 @ 10:30 AM

⛳️CONGRATULATIONS, MADY!

🔥🔥GRUELING heat for 2 days could not stop this Royal from competing at the Class AA Girls State golf tournament!

Shout out to some AMAZING 🤩 supporters: teammates, family, & friends for cheering her on throughout!!

🎉👏Mady finished 78th place, representing her school community well!! We are so proud of you, Mady!!

Our final 2026 Legacy Family is the Ryan/Motzko family! Noah Ryan graduated this spring and was active in Royal football and baseball until his love for farming took over. He recently entered the work force with his Dad, Adam Ryan, as a glassworker.
Noah's mother is Jessica Motzko, who graduated from Watertown-Mayer in 2000. She was active in softball, volleyball, and band. She went on to graduate from St. Cloud State University in 2004.
Jessica's dad, Joe Motzko, graduated from Watertown-Mayer class of 1979. He was active in football and wrestling. He went on to diesel mechanic school at Willmar Tech and has owned Motzko Repair in Watertown since 1985.
Noah hopes to continue his love for farming whenever he has the chance! We wish him the best and thank his family for sharing their story. Go Royals!!
