Serving the community since 1979 as a comprehensive victims services agency, the mission of the Victims Assistance Center of Jefferson County is to assist and provide direct services to victims/survivors of violence and crime in Jefferson County, NY. Victimization does not end with the violence of the crime itself. The Victims Assistance Center recognizes these complex issues and assists individuals and families in our community through a variety of direct services.

🏌️‍♀️⛳ We are excited to welcome St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union to our 2nd Annual VAC Golf Tournament!

This year, St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union is sponsoring the golf carts that will keep our players moving throughout the day, and they'll also be hitting the course with a team of their own!

Today, we recognize and thank Cindy Intschert for her incredible dedication to our community and the Victims Assistance Center.

As Jefferson County District Attorney, Cindy played a vital role in helping establish our Child Advocacy Center, ensuring children and families had access to trauma-informed services when they needed them most. After her retirement, her commitment to serving others continued through 9 years of service on our Board of Directors, helping guide our mission and strengthen support for victims throughout our region.

Cindy's leadership, compassion, and unwavering belief in justice have left a lasting impact on countless lives.

💙June is Men's Mental Health Awareness Month💙

Some of us were taught to be the dam.

Hold it together. Stay strong. Don't cry. Don't talk about it. Keep the pressure behind the wall and tell everyone you're fine.

But pressure doesn't disappear just because it's hidden.

The cracks start small. Stress. Anger. Isolation. Sleepless nights. Anxiety. Depression. The duct tape goes on and we keep telling ourselves, "I've got this."

Until the water starts finding a way out.

Real strength isn't pretending the cracks don't exist. Real strength is recognizing when the weight is too much to carry alone and having the courage to reach out before the dam breaks.

If you're struggling, you don't have to hold it all in.

Talk to a friend. Talk to family. Talk to a pastor. Talk to a counselor. Talk to someone.

You matter. Your story matters. And your life matters.
