Today was a great day for our department along with the Jefferson County District attorney’s office and a few family and friends to get out and support the Special Olympics. Our team pulled the bus a total of five times and did an amazing job.

Last night at the American Legion Sr. Probation Officer Daniel Connor was awarded Probation Officer of the Year. Dan has been with the department since November of 2009 and his contributions have been immeasurable.

Today we are very proud to celebrate probation officer Johnson, and probation officer Moore for their five years of exemplary service. We are very proud they’re a part of our team.

Today officers played volleyball to help benefit Lyme Central School’s sports program. We ended up with second place great job everyone and thanks to ADA Pitkin and Oneida PO Amarosa for playing with us.

Our amazing TSA team at Watertown International Airport (ART) has been working hard to keep us safe for over 30 days without pay due to the DHS shutdown. They are essential workers who show up every day with a smile, even during this tough time.

Let’s show them some major love and appreciation! ❤️

As our Director of Aviation, Grant Sussey, said: these folks work every day to keep us safe by keeping prohibited items and explosives off planes. Let’s make sure they feel the support of this incredible community while we wait for a resolution, hopefully soon.

We are extremely thankful for the opportunity to participate in this training and we are very proud of Probation officer, Riley Keenan.

Congratulations to members from the Watertown Police Department, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Probation, and Lewis County Probation, who successfully completed the Instructor Development Course hosted by the Black River/St. Lawrence Valley Police Academy, led by Master Instructor Lt. Kamide.

Becoming an instructor is an important responsibility. These officers will now help shape future training and strengthen the profession for years to come. It requires experience in the field and an ability to mentor, teach, and inspire.

To all who completed this challenging course—your dedication to professional development and to the law enforcement community does not go unnoticed! 🙏
