On June 1, we were proud to celebrate the official ribbon cutting of Main Street Bagels & Sandwiches in partnership with the Watertown/Oakville Chamber of Commerce.

Owned by Oakville residents Diana and Angel Torres, this family-owned business brings local pride, dedication, and great food to Main Street. Their menu features fresh bagels, coffee, breakfast favorites, and lunch specials, and they are open seven days a week from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

State Senator Eric Berthel and Town Manager Mark Raimo also joined the celebration to welcome this new addition to Watertown's business community.

Every new local business strengthens our economy, creates opportunities, and contributes to the vibrancy of our community. When you choose to shop local, you support local families and help Watertown continue to grow and thrive.

We encourage residents and visitors alike to stop by, enjoy a coffee and a bagel, and join us in welcoming one of Watertown's newest small businesses!

Understanding Utility Reserves

The study recommends maintaining operating reserves equal to approximately 90 days (25%) of operating expenses.

Utility reserve balances are important because they help:
๐Ÿ’ง Respond to emergencies
๐Ÿ’ง Address equipment failures
๐Ÿ’ง Stabilize operations
๐Ÿ’ง Maintain service reliability
๐Ÿ’ง Reduce financial risk

Utility reserves function similarly to emergency savings and are a standard component of long-term utility financial management.

The WSA and Town recognize that utility costs directly affect households and businesses, and public input is an important part of the review process.
