K-9 Ragnar and Sgt. Callison had a great time yesterday with E-TC and Ontonagon 5th graders during Camp 911. Students learned about the vital roles first responders play in our communities, explored their equipment, and picked up important safety tips. Sgt. Callison and Ragnar did a live demo on how K-9s perform article searches and talked about the unique contributions K-9s make to public safety. The kids also got to meet and pet Ragnar!

The Lac Vieux Desert Police Department has lit up their building with blue and yellow lights in support of World Down Syndrome Day on March 21.
The 21st day of the 3rd month was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication of the 21st chromosome which causes down syndrome.
Don’t forget to wear blue and yellow and rock your colorful/mismatched socks on Friday, March 21, to help us raise awareness and celebrate World Down Syndrome Day!!

On January 14, 2025, Sergeant Dakotah Callison and K-9 Ragnar from the Lac Vieux Desert Police Department visited the Watersmeet School for a special demonstration and educational event. The K-9 team conducted a narcotics search around the school grounds, showcasing Ragnar’s skills in detection. Students also had the opportunity to watch live demonstrations of the K-9’s training and interact with Ragnar during meet and greet sessions. The event aimed to educate students about law enforcement, safety, and the important role K-9s play in the community.
