Conversations around mental health matter. ๐
Weโre grateful to see community partners coming together to share resources, raise awareness, and help break the stigma surrounding mental health. Thank you to Cedar Falls, Iowa, City Government, UnityPoint Health - Waterloo (Black Hawk-Grundy Mental Health Center), MercyOne Northeast Iowa, Alive & Running, and everyone involved in this important discussion.
No one should have to struggle alone. When we listen, support one another, and connect people to care, we build a stronger, healthier community for all.

ICYMI ๐ As Mental Health Awareness Month comes to a close, it is vital to remember that the fight continues. In support of this important cause, City Communications Specialist Amanda Huisman and Cedar Falls Public Safety Officer Zachary Andersen joined Thomas Eachus (UnityPoint Health Black Hawk-Grundy Mental Health Center Executive Director), Chris Latta (MercyOne Waterloo Director of Behavioral Health), and Ryan Nesbit (Co-Founder of the nonprofit Alive & Running Iowa) during a candid panel discussion to explain the role of different organizations in assisting those in need of services and how they work together to help the community.
The heart of the discussion was not simply to provide information but to speak directly to the questions that those impacted by mental health illness may have, using personal experience to break the stigma and begin the conversation.
