August Partner of the Month

HNS is proud to recognize Natalie Matzenbacher and the 4-H Clover Friends as our August Partner of the Month!

Throughout the growing season, Natalie and the Clover Friends generously donated the harvest from their garden to HNS—providing more than 1,000 pounds of fresh produce for local families.

Their hard work, generosity, and commitment to serving their neighbors helped us offer healthy, locally grown food to those we serve.

We are grateful for young people who are learning firsthand what it means to grow, give, and make a difference right here in Monroe County.

You don’t have to wait until a small setback becomes a crisis.

An unexpected car repair, reduced paycheck, medical expense or higher-than-normal bill can throw off an entire household budget. When one bill falls behind, late fees and other expenses can quickly make the problem bigger.

A generous gift that will help fill a lot of plates!

A huge thank you to Skip Weber for generously donating an entire steer to help feed local families!

The beef was shared between the House of Neighborly Service Food Pantry and the St. Paul Lutheran Church Food Pantry in Columbia, putting quality protein directly into the hands of neighbors who need it.

This is what neighbors helping neighbors looks like—local generosity, local partnerships, and food staying right here in Monroe County.

Could You Use a Helping Hand This Fall?

HNS is helping connect Monroe County residents with volunteers from Hope Christian Church’s I Love My City community service day on Saturday, October 24, from 9:30 a.m.–noon.

Volunteer teams are looking for practical projects that can make life a little easier for a neighbor who may not be able to tackle the work on their own.

Projects might include:
• Raking leaves and basic yard cleanup
• Light tree or bush trimming
• Outdoor cleanup
• Cleaning out a home when a dumpster is provided
• Other manageable projects that a team of volunteers can complete in a morning
