Memorial Day is a time to honor and remember the brave service members who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect and pay tribute.

REMINDER! Construction on Donald Street begins tomorrow. The project includes a 4 mile stretch between Sage Road and Raymond Road, including resurfacing and widening the roadway. Construction will be completed under flagger and pilot car and is anticipated to take 8 weeks, depending on weather.

Iowa DOT is looking at changes to the Hwy 63 & C57/Cedar Wapsi intersection. During the Tuesday, April 28 meeting the Black Hawk County Board of Supervisors and County Engineer Cathy Nicholas expressed concerns about the proposed J turn.

The Contractor updated the scheduled start date of this project to May 11, 2026.

Paving work on Donald Street will begin May 11. The project includes widening and resurfacing a 4 mile stretch between Sage Road and Raymond Road. Construction will be completed under flagger and pilot car and is anticipated to take 8 weeks, depending on weather.

Please slow down and allow extra time when driving through this and all construction zones. Thank you!

The Black Hawk County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing to consider adoption of the FY27 Budget on Monday, April 20 at 9:00 AM at the Black Hawk County Courthouse, Room 201 (316 E. 5th Street, Waterloo).

Residents and taxpayers are invited to attend and share feedback on the proposed budget.

Following the hearing, the Board will hold its regular weekly meeting.
Please note: There will be no Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday, April 21.
