La Porte Road is now fully open to traffic south of San Marnan Drive. The remainder of Phase 1’s construction, the Bopp Street intersection, will be closed and completed in the Spring of 2026 once weather allows.

Phase 2 construction is anticipated to begin around May/June of 2026 and will start at the Ridgeway Avenue/La Porte Road intersection. Phase 2’s construction limits extend from Ridgeway Avenue to Byron Avenue and are anticipated to be completed within the 2026 and 2027 construction seasons.

Shaulis Road to the driveway to 2325 Crossroads Blvd is expected to be open by the end of October 2025, weather pending.

The driveway to 2325 Crossroads Blvd to Grimm Street is expected to open by the middle of November 2025, weather pending.

Grimm Street to Bopp Street could be open through the winter of 2025, but then be closed again first thing in the spring of 2026 to complete the work.

🚧Beginning the week of October 6, 2025, La Porte Road traffic will be closed from the KOA Campground entrance to the midpoint of the Holiday Inn/Motel 6 driveway near Bopp Street. This is an extension of the current closure with the additional portion of LaPorte Road heading north. Grimm Street will be open on the north side for head-to-head traffic for Mutual Wheel and Air Services access.

Access to the KOA Campground remains off the Shaulis Road roundabout from the south. Access to the Holiday Inn and Motel 6 will remain from the north on La Porte Road.

Please see the attached map showing the construction zone highlighted. For safety purposes, please do not enter the construction area.

🚧At approximately 9:00 AM on Thursday, July 17, the contractor will begin traffic control changes to close W. San Marnan Drive for the next phase of construction.
After the traffic control changes are made,

🚥Eastbound and westbound W. San Marnan Drive will be closed from Kimball Avenue to Ansborough Avenue. The Kimball Avenue/San Marnan Drive intersection and the Ansborough Avenue/San Marnan Drive intersection will remain open.

🚦Eastbound and westbound E. San Marnan Drive will be open to traffic from Hwy 21 to Kimball Avenue.

Phase 2 reconstruction of La Porte Road is tentatively being scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2026. Phase 2 reconstruction will occur from Ridgway Avenue to Byron Avenue and the Highway 218 exit ramp. A trail connection will also be constructed up to 18th Street. It is anticipated that construction of this phase will take two years.

Phase 2 reconstruction of La Porte Road is tentatively being scheduled to begin in the Spring of 2026. Phase 2 reconstruction will occur from Ridgway Avenue to Byron Avenue and the Highway 218 exit ramp. A trail connection will also be constructed up to 18th Street. 🚧Beginning the week of April 7, 2025, Grimm Street between La Porte Road and Crossroads Blvd will be closed to traffic. Beginning tentatively April 9th, La Porte Road traffic will be closed from the KOA Campground entrance to just south of the Air Services driveway at 2213 La Porte Road. Grimm Street will be open on the south side for head to head traffic for Mutual Wheel access only. Access to the KOA Campground must come from the south off of the Shaulis Road roundabout. Access to Air Services will remain from the north on La Porte Road.
