A FAVORITE!! Beach Day at Waterford Beach Park with Waterford Senior Services!! Wednesday, September 16, 11:30 AM - 2 PM. Door to Sand service at the beach. We will bring you and your chair directly from the parking lot to the beach with a ride on the Polaris cart! Restroom break rides too! ADA Accessible beach chair available for use so everyone can enjoy the water. Relax and socialize under our tents with music and plenty of shade provided.
Choose a salami, turkey or meatless grinder. chips, cookies and beverage. Ticket $10 register by 9/14!

🚨 Waterford Participates in EPPI 2026 Statewide Emergency Preparedness Drill ❄️

This week, the Town of Waterford participated in Connecticut’s EPPI 2026 Major Winter Storm Exercise, a statewide emergency preparedness drill designed to test how municipalities, State agencies, emergency responders, utilities and other partners coordinate during a significant winter weather event.

The exercise simulated a major snowstorm impacting Connecticut, including hazardous travel, power outages, infrastructure concerns, staffing challenges and the potential need to open emergency shelters and warming centers.

Waterford’s participation included reviewing staffing and continuity plans, testing communications, tracking simulated storm impacts and resource needs, coordinating through the State Emergency Operations Center and preparing for potential shelter and warming-center operations.

Exercises like EPPI 2026 are important because preparedness happens before an emergency. They give our team an opportunity to test plans, identify areas for improvement and strengthen coordination with our State, regional and utility partners.

Special thank you to our Waterford Emergency Management and Dispatchers, Waterford Police Department, Waterford Fire Department, Waterford Ambulance Service as well as our Waterford Public Works Department, Waterford Utility Commission, Waterford Recreation & Parks, Waterford Senior Services, CT, Waterford Youth & Family Services and Waterford Board of Education for your participation.

The goal is simple: when a real emergency happens, Waterford is ready. 🚒🚑🚓❄️

We love seeing this group make Senior Services a place to connect, belong, and enjoy each other’s company! We are always looking to add to the group!
