State Representative Nick Gauthier and State Senator Martha Marx what are your thoughts on lowering insurance rates for Waterford taxpayers? We will add this to the Town Meeting you can host for residents!

🩺Connecticut is already one of the most expensive states in the country to live and do business. Now, residents and small businesses could be hit with double-digit health insurance rate hikes.

It gets worse. CBIA Health Connections, a group health insurance program launched less than two years ago to give small businesses more affordable coverage options, just announced it’s shutting down. Rising costs and a shrinking market forced it out.

For families and employers already stretched thin, this means skipped doctor visits, impossible budget decisions, and businesses wondering how much longer they can offer coverage to their employees.

State Senator Tony Hwang is calling on the CT Insurance Department to scrutinize these requests and protect consumers. Public hearings are coming this August, and your voice matters. Read more about how to make your voice heard by clicking the link in the comments.

“Free” State Parks? Not exactly State Senator Martha Marx

Connecticut residents pay a mandatory Passport to the Parks fee on every vehicle registration. Governor Lamont and legislative Democrats increased that fee from $15 to $24 per registration cycle, meaning residents are paying upfront whether they visit a park or not. That’s not free—it’s a tax or fee built into your registration bill.

Nothing is free when taxpayers are required to pay for it. The honest statement would be: “State park parking is prepaid through your vehicle registration fee, whether you want to go to a state park or not.”

How is Seaside State Park doing?

Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Conn., created a political committee that has funded the Indivisible Project, a group at the center of coordinating anti-ICE protests alongside anti-Israel, Marxist and left-wing organizations, several with questionable foreign actor relationships.

In a recent Poll ranking the State of CT in terms of Best States to Retire, guess what? We rank 48th in the country. Yes, only four states that are worse.🙄

Thank you Republican Senator Heather Somers for working hard for seniors who are struggling to pay for heat in the winter. State Representative Nick Gauthier and State Senator Martha Marx our residents have not heard from you regarding Buckeye Terminal in Groton closing. Is it true if Buckeye Terminal Eastern point Groton closes ALL Waterford oil trucks must travel to Providence or New Haven several times a day to fill up and costing our residents thousands more next winter if oil can’t be filled close by in Groton. The costs get passed on to our seniors. Thank you again State Senator Heather Somers and Port Authority Chairman Michael O’Conner, for trying to help Waterford residents and business owners!
