The hardworking men and women of the Connecticut State Building Trades believe in the fundamental principle that workers deserve to earn the full value of the production of their labor. And I agree! ✊ I could not be more proud and honored to have again earned their endorsement for reelection to the Connecticut state House.

To ensure that workers do receive fair opportunities and due compensation we must protect prevailing wage laws, Project Labor Agreements, workforce development initiatives, strong apprenticeship and apprenticeship-readiness programs, occupational licensing standards, and open competitive bidding laws.

The moment when initially escaping domestic violence is often when victims and survivors face the greatest threat. It is vital in this moment to have wraparound services capable of cradling victims and protecting survivors. Which is why I couldn't be more honored to participate in yesterday's ceremonial groundbreaking for The Center for Safe Futures right here in our town of Waterford!

The Center, when opened, will provide victims of abuse with:

💜 Behavioral and mental health counselors
💜 Criminal, civil, and law enforcement services
💜 Housing and employment assistance
💜 Immigration advocacy
💜 Medical and substance use disorder services
💜 Safety planning, protective services, and more
