The Waterford Democrats are proud to endorse Martha Marx for reelection as State Senator for Connecticut’s 20th Senate District!

As Chair of the Housing Committee, Martha has been a leading advocate for policies that expand access to affordable housing, strengthen protections for renters and homeowners, and help Connecticut families find stable, safe places to live. Throughout the legislative session, she fought for practical solutions to address housing affordability, support responsible development, and ensure communities have the resources needed to meet growing housing demands. She also continues to advocate for the passage of just-cause eviction legislation.

Serving as Vice Chair of the Public Health Committee, Martha has also brought invaluable frontline experience to the Capitol through her lifelong career as a nurse. Her lived experience caring for patients and families has shaped her commitment to improving healthcare access, strengthening public health systems, supporting increased protections for healthcare workers, and prioritizing the well-being of Connecticut residents.

Martha has consistently stood up for working families, seniors, veterans, and vulnerable residents, advocating for policies that make our communities healthier, more affordable, and more equitable. During Nick’s first term, he tirelessly advocated for policies that support working families and strengthen our communities. He continues to champion key issues, including universal school meals so every child has access to nutritious, free food; expanded transportation options to better connect residents to jobs and services; and increased education funding to support our students and schools.

Nick has also been a leading voice for affordability and economic fairness, supporting investments in reliable, low-cost energy infrastructure and expanded utilities to help lower costs for families. At the same time, he has spoken out against regressive local property taxes that place an unfair burden on working families, low-income individuals, and seniors, advocating for reforms that create a fairer tax system for our communities.

His dedication, leadership, and commitment to delivering equitable solutions for Waterford and Montville residents make us proud to support his reelection for State Representative.

It is always meaningful reflecting while attending Waterford's Memorial Day Ceremony, but especially so this year at the Veterans Memorial Green. This year's ceremony focused on those who served, and died, during the Vietnam Era with the unveiling of a new, community organized memorial plaque. Thank you to Rich Messina and Walter Whitesides for leading this effort for our community.

Thank you so much to the assembled Waterford & Montville Democrats delegates for your vote of confidence and unanimous endorsement to again serve as our 38th district state House Representative!! It has been an honor of a lifetime to serve and represent our two towns, and we have plenty of excellent work to build upon in our next two-year term!

Thank you so much to Montville Town Councilor Nick Sabilia and Waterford Selectman Greg Attanasio for your nominations and speeches covering all the good work we have done together in providing for our towns, from supporting school meals for all kids in our schools, to reducing significant costs on working families, advancing open space, upholding labor rights, and helping support our local budgets by funding municipal services at the state level!

Thank you to Julie Watson Jones, Waterford RTM District 3 and Waterford Democratic Registrar Bigi Ebbin for serving as chair and secretary of our convention!
