*** Millstone Emergency Alerts are Changing ***

Starting October 1, 2026, if there is an emergency at Millstone Power Station, you will receive emergency alerts on your mobile phone. These alerts work like AMBER or severe weather alerts. The old siren system is being eliminated.

These emergency alerts (also known as Wireless Emergency Alerts or WEAs) are sent through FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS). They will include a short message telling you to go to a webpage and/or tune in to local radio or TV station for emergency information and/or instructions.

At the same time, the Emergency Alert System (EAS) will interrupt regular programming on TV and radio to share emergency information and/or instructions.

If an emergency occurs at Millstone Power Station, anyone living, working or visiting within 10 miles of the power station will receive an emergency alert.

A public informational meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, 2026 at 6:30 pm at Waterford Town Hall with participation expected from Dominion Energy/Millstone, the Connecticut Department of Emergency Management and Homeland Security, the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection Radiation Division and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Water Week #1 is in the books! Today the Camp Dash and Rec & Parks got their turn with the fire engine and getting soaked. Part time firefighters stationed at Quaker Hill Fire Co, came with engine 2 and had just as much fun as the kids!

It's "Water Week" at Camp Dash and Rec and Park's Playground!! Our littlest residents got cooled off this morning. Even a few counselors got wet. Thank you to Group 3 Captain Pawlak and crew for helping make this week one of the best of the year!

Touch a Truck at Waterford Summer Camps this week! Children attending Camp Dash and Rec and Parks Playground camp at Quaker Hill and Oswegatchie Schools were able to see and "feel" Fire engines, Police cruisers and Ambulances.

A huge thank you to Oswegatchie and Quaker Hill fire trucks for helping Camp DASH beat the heat today. Our campers loved the surprise splash!
