Thank you to Pierce Middle School for welcoming Judge Fox and his staff, defense attorneys and their clients, and township prosecutor Charlynn Turner to conduct Court in Schools last Friday. Judge Fox passed sentences to individuals convicted of drinking and driving, and those individuals were able to address the Court, as well as the students of Pierce Middle School about the choices they made. Students got to listen to real life stories and we appreciate those members of our community for selflessly choosing to participate in the Court in Schools program. Thank you to everyone who made it possible!

On 5/15 we had the honor of celebrating the veterans who graduated from the 51st District Court's Veterans Treatment Court Program. These individuals put in hard work and dedication in order to complete this rigorous program.

Thank you Isaac Cortes, from Oakland Community Health Network and Marine Corps veteran, for giving a powerful speech and encouraging words to our graduates and those who are still in the program. We would like to thank Michigan Attorney General Mike Cox, who is also a Marine Corps veteran, for speaking at the graduation, and showing that grit and determination can take you far in life.

Lastly, thank you to all of the volunteer mentors and team members of the Veterans Treatment Court Program. None of this would be possible without your selfless dedication and drive to give back.

Good luck to those who graduated last week, we can't wait to see all of the amazing things you do in the future!

Only a few more days to sign up for the 51st District Court Annual Pancake Breakfast!

When: Saturday, August 10th, 2024, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Where: Hess Hathaway Farm - Pavilion 2

Activities will include a raffle, hayride, playground, teddy bear hunt for the kids and Judge Kuhn v. Judge Fox volleyball game!

Families are welcome!

Probationers will get credit for one day (5 hours) of community service.

Please call the Probation Department for further information on how to sign up.

The 51st District Court would like to congratulate the veterans who graduated from the Veteran's Treatment Court Program on 7/18/2024. We would like to celebrate their successes and thank them for dedicating their time in serving our country. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors!

A special thank you to Congresswoman Haley Stevens for her words of encouragement and Attorney Justin Gonzales, also a veteran, for his inspiring story!

Lastly, thank you to our amazing VTC team and VTC mentors who play a vital role in the success of the program!

The Hess Hathaway Farm is open for community service.
-Tuesdays from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
-Thursdays from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm
-Saturdays from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
