FALL HYDRANT FLUSHING

Waterford Township DPW will perform Fall hydrant flushing September 8 through mid-October. Flushing is done between 4-8 pm, Monday through Thursday.

Customers may see brown water coming from their faucets and/or in their toilets. If that happens, please flush the lines by running cold water in the bathtub or laundry tub until it runs clear.

Please contact the Waterford Township Department of Public Works at 248-674-2278 with any questions or concerns.

Va**ng 101: What Parents Need to Know

Va**ng products have changed, and knowing what to look for can help parents and caregivers start important conversations with their kids.

The Waterford Community Coalition and Waterford Youth Assistance are offering FREE Va**ng 101 presentations for parents and caregivers of Waterford School District students this fall.

Learn about current va**ng trends, how vapes work, health risks and the effects of ni****ne on the developing brain. You'll also get practical tips for talking with your kids and have the opportunity to explore an interactive mock teen bedroom to see what va**ng products may actually look like.

📍 We will be at Mason Middle School tonight - 5:00 p.m. Other presentations will be held at Kettering High School, Pierce Middle School, and Mott High School throughout September and October.

No registration fee. Knowledge is a powerful prevention tool, and one conversation can make a difference.

This applies primarily to unpaid balances for service periods October 2025-March 2026 under the previous contract.

Gleaners is hosting drive-up food distributions next week, which are free and open to the public. Anyone in need of food is encouraged to attend and will receive over 35 pounds of nutritious groceries, like milk, fresh fruit, vegetables, lean protein, and other shelf-stable items while supplies last.

Thank you to the community for supporting the annual Longest Breakfast Table event!

Our police and firefighters flipped hundreds of pancakes, attendees of all ages had a terrific time, and the donations were plentiful. The weather was also marvelous! The perfect day!

Pastor Rick from Lifepoint Christian Church, police Chief Underwood and Fire Chief Nye all expressed gratitude to the community for their support, and honored those we lost in the September 11, 2001 attacks on our great nation.
