We’re looking for a few friendly people to help cover Saturday cashier shifts at Open Door Thrift Store.

If you enjoy meeting people and want to give a few hours of your weekend to something that directly supports our community, we’d love to have you.

Saturday shifts: 10 AM–1:30 PM or 1:30 PM–4:30 PM

A look back at last year’s Outrun Hunger event and a reminder of why this work matters.

Open Door Outreach Center is proud to be one of the organizations supported through Outrun Hunger. Last year, our Executive Director Ray Sherlock and members of our team shared how this partnership helps strengthen our ability to serve individuals and families facing food insecurity.

This year’s run is November 14, and registration is open now.

Run, walk, build a team, sponsor, volunteer, or simply help spread the word. Every registration and every act of support helps move resources into the community where they are needed most.

A huge thank you to Huron Valley State Bank and its incredible staff for supporting Open Door Outreach Center’s Birthday Bag Program for the fourth consecutive year!

Their team collected cake mix, frosting, party supplies, toys and more to help local children celebrate their birthdays with something special.

Community partnerships like this help us bring dignity, joy and a little extra celebration to the families we serve. We are grateful for your continued generosity and support!

Open Door Outreach Center is proud to be the Detroit Red Wings Charity of the Game on 𝗪𝗲𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝗡𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟱, as the Red Wings take on the Vancouver Canucks at Little Caesars Arena.

Saturday, September 12 is 𝐒𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲 at the Charter Township of Commerce, Michigan | Meijer, benefiting Open Door Outreach Center.

Simply Give is Meijer’s hunger-relief program that turns customer donations into food-only gift cards for local food pantries. During this campaign, donations made at the Commerce Township Meijer support Open Door Outreach Center.

Every $10 donated becomes $30 to help stock our local food pantry.

We received a very personal donation within the last few days at Open Door Thrift Store. This was the only container in the case. There were 3 more to this set.
