• Traffic- A traffic engineer was present and discussed traffic reports that were done in Feb and June. Discussed peak times are 7-9am and 3-4:00pm and that the traffic will be staggered due to Wilson School. The traffic reports state that speed is not a factor on Birch but speed is a factor on Berkeley Avenue with people traveling 50 miles per hour. In addition to the two flashing 25 mile per hour signs on Berkeley there will be an additional on Berkeley due to excessive speeding will be a solar operated 25 mile signs. These reports are public info and a copy of the traffic reports that were done are available at the City- Engineers Office.

• Drainage- added a cutoff swale to divert water

• Fencing and Security- added a line of boulders to prevent ATV access, fencing along residential property line and added a security camera on light pole observing detention basin access drive.

• Sidewalks- added crosswalk across Berkeley to east sidewalk, added sidewalk up Berkeley across driveways, added crosswalk across east parking access tied into bus line.

• Blasting- Amar Shamas (Gilbane Trade) was present and discussed they are proceeding in accordance with approval plan through end of June and that blasting occurs once or twice a day and will last for another four to five weeks.

Many residents voiced concerns about damage that has been made to their property due to the blast and vibrations and concerned about damage being repaired and whom they should contact for claims and reimbursement. I asked what happens in 10-15 years if residents notice damage that may have been caused by blasting and inquired about timeframe for insurance claims/limitation, which he (Amar Shamas- Gilbane Trade) will have to look into and find out and get back to residents with information. It should be noted that the Blasting reports are also public info and a copy of reports are also available at the City--Engineers office

• Off Site Improvements- part of future capital improvement plans
Vandalism -For those of you who were unaware there was some vandalism on the actual site and this past weekend and a resident inquired about what they plan to do about this. It was stated that a security guard will be on board during the evenings and weekend however this is merely to protect their site not the safety of residents. I followed up with a question about neighborhood safety and asked about them getting a police officer to monitor area vs. a security guard and the representatives reported this is something they can look into.
