This morning, NVCOG Executive Director Rick Dunne joined Governor Ned Lamont, Mayor Lauretti, and DECD Deputy Commissioner Matt Pugliese in Shelton to announce a $2,975,500 state grant awarded to NVCOG.

This grant will fund the remediation of the former Chromium Processing Site, Axton Cross, and Cel'Lastik Site, paving the way for two new developments featuring more than 120 units of housing, retail space, and a parking garage.

NVCOG has been awarded $2 million in supplemental funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to further its mission of transforming contaminated and underutilized properties into thriving community assets.

This new funding will expand NVCOG’s successful Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) Program, allowing the agency to provide additional sub grants and low-interest loans to municipalities and developers across its Regional Brownfields Partnership (RBP).
