Keep Westerly Green (KWG) is not preventing Winnapaug Golf Course from developing their property. KWG supports thoughtful development that preserves the character of existing neighborhoods and our natural resources. Tell the Planning Board to respect current Westerly zoning codes and limit the development of the Winnapaug Golf Course. To learn how you can help, go to: https://keepwesterlygreen.weebly.com

Excerpt from The Westerly Sun article below:
Strategically, there are currently only two options: an extreme long shot to have nothing done, or the 2,300 units. The Westerly Town Council could inject a third option. It could approve, ASAP, the previously requested zoning change that would allow hospitality. In the past, at least, Winn Properties wanted that.

Choose your options, increase the choices, but stop pretending this is a bluff, and stop imploring government agencies without any say to save your, and our, bacon.

Update on Town Council & Winnapaug Golf Course
Proposed Ordinance (Repost from Keep Westerly Green https://keepwesterlygreen.weebly.com/)
On November 21st, the Westerly Town Council voted to deny Winn Properties' proposed ordinance which would have paved the way for massive development of the Winnapaug Golf Course. This was a huge win for Keep Westerly Green and the residents of Westerly!
Thank You!!

The entire KWG membership would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to each and every one of you who have supported our efforts over the last two years. Your letters to the editor at the Westerly Sun, attendance at both Town Planning Board and Council Meetings, placement of yard signs opposing overdevelopment of the course, along with letters to the Town Council members have been instrumental in the denial of the Winn Properties proposed zoning changes.

Stay Tuned...
We do not know what next steps Winn Properties will take as a means to get the necessary approvals for their development plans. KWG will continue to monitor development requests and communicate any learnings out to this group.
Thank you for your ongoing support. Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season!
