🇺🇸 REMEMBER. HONOR. NEVER FORGET. 🇺🇸

Yesterday, Firefighters M. Doyle and C. Matta had the honor of participating in the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, joining fellow firefighters and first responders to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

The climb honors the 343 firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, 37 Port Authority Police officers, and 8 EMS workers who lost their lives that day while serving others.

Each step is a reminder of their courage, sacrifice, and commitment to helping others.

We are incredibly proud of our firefighters for taking on this challenge and carrying the memory of those heroes with them every step of the way.

25 years later, We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

We are incredibly proud to celebrate some of Watauga's finest! B-Shift was recognized yesterday with the Life-Saving Award from Medical City North Hills! ❤️‍🩹👏

Their quick response, professionalism, teamwork, and dedication helped make a life-saving difference when it mattered most.

This recognition is a testament to the skill and compassion our firefighters bring to every call. We are honored to have such dedicated professionals serving the City of Watauga—and you should TOO!

This September 11 marks 25 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001.

The City of Watauga will begin the day with our traditional morning remembrance at the 9/11 Memorial. Members of Watauga Fire and Police will stand watch as key moments from September 11 are recognized with ceremonial bell tolls.

For the 25th anniversary, the community will gather again that evening for a Remembrance Ceremony beginning at 7:00 PM.

The evening ceremony is planned to include:
• Watauga Joint Fire/Police Honor Guard
• National Anthem
• Remarks from City and public safety leaders
• Memorial wreath laying
• Bagpiper performance of Amazing Grace
• A historical video sharing the story of Watauga’s World Trade Center steel and the creation of the 9/11 Memorial
• Candlelight vigil at approximately 8:30 PM

Whether you join us in the morning, evening, or both, we invite you to remember the lives lost, honor those who answered the call, and help carry their stories forward.
