At 16:55 6/8/26 Wassaic Fire along With Amenia Fd under mutual aid, Amenia Medic 1 were dispatched for a priority one motor vehicle accident in the area of 91 S. Amenia Rd. Wassaic 69-1 arived on the scene determine that two car serious accident with two patients, and immediately called for the road to be closed at both ends of Benson Rd. One patient was transported ALS to Vassar Brothers Medical Center by Amenia Medic 1. Unfortunately there was a fatality in which accident reconstruction / investigation was initiated by Dutchess County Sheriffs Office. Road was reopened approximately 21:30 hours. Thank you to the members of Wassaic who were on the scene and to those that were on stand by, thank you also to Amenia Fire, Amenia Medic 1 (Empress EMS), DCSO, Dutchess County Department of Emergency Response dispatchers, Dutchess County medical examiners office, and DC highway. Today members Russell Boyles, Terran Mace, Dylan Paraszti and Steve Hurn Jr participated in a Memorial Day ceremony at the town hall. A special thank you to the VFW and the Amenia fire company who also stood in the color guard

Day 2 of rope rescue training, with or brothers and sisters from Amenia and Millerton. As the Chief i am proud of the hard work that these members put in over the past 2 days, let's alone the heat that was going on. Thank you to the instructors from CTR, they were phenomenal.

14 members from Wassaic and some members Amenia and Millerton took part in Rope Rescue training today was Day 1 Classroom and then some on hands.

Union Vale Fire Department always happy to help

The Wassaic Fire Rescue "The Blue Crew" went above and beyond this time donating over 31 pounds of aluminum tabs to us! Wow!
The tabs are collected by UVFD in collaboration with our local Home Bureau Chapter for Ronald McDonald House Charities in Albany.
