We are so excited for this amazing project. 🫶👏

We just wrapped up another incredible session in Vashrąįį K'ǫǫ!

We worked with 12 first language speakers on expanding and refining over 280 entries in the database, produced multiple 100 word passages that will serve to inform literacy assessment in K-5 grades, completed work on 61 sets of classroom teacher commands for activities, and began work on a set of Gwich'in fiddling square dance calls in the language!

We also reviewed 4 new children's books that we plan to release this August, alongside the first print edition of our 800 page student dictionary!

We are so grateful to all the elder speakers, Arctic Village Council, community members, cooks, cleaners, coordinators, and everyone who helps make this critical work possible! Big shout out to Beaver Village Council for getting this work launched 5 years ago as well!

There was some real excitement in the air at this session about these upcoming releases and celebration! Stay tuned for the dates.
