Wasilla Sunrise Rotary Club (WSRC) is part of Rotary International's District 5010. Like all Rotary Clubs, WSRC is a local, grassroots, community service organization that also has the world wide support of Rotary International. WSRC actively serves the Mat-Su Valley with community service projects, youth exchanges, scholarship offerings, and also partakes in international service projects beyond
our local community. WSRC supports youth exchange for local high school students. We also offer college scholarship opportunities. Community service projects are a large part of WSRC. Community service projects have included: Adopt a Highway, where club members pickup roadside litter; Salvation Army fundraising through bell ringing; constructing a $50,000 inclusive playground at Wasilla Lake's Newcomb Park, which is designed to be accessible by disabled children, Mat-Su Special Santa and most recently, joining with the Palmer Rotary Club to improve the Palmer tennis courts. WSRC also promotes members to develop in their vocation. Members can serve better serve their community through the success of their vocation. Club members also volunteer at local schools to share their vocation with students and promote education. WSRC is a supporter of Rotary International and the Rotary Foundation. WSRC raises funds to give back to the Rotary Foundation, which has the capability to do large scale service projects throughout the world, like providing potable water to rural native villages. With the support of Rotary Clubs such as the WSRC, The Rotary Foundation has nearly eradicated Polio world wide.
