This Month for our Member Spotlight, we’re proud to spotlight EMT Julian Campofiori.

Before starting in EMS, Julian worked in recruitment for two years. While he enjoyed the aspects of the job, he often felt stagnant in the routine of daily office work and wanted a career where he could make a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Growing up, he always thought first responders had some of the coolest jobs, responding to emergencies, helping people in need, and remaining calm under pressure. Ultimately, he decided that he wanted a career that his younger self would be proud of.

There isn’t one particular moment that stands out above the rest. Instead, Julian is proud every day to have the opportunity to serve his community and be a small light for someone who may be experiencing one of the darkest days of their life.

Julian says EMS is not always as action-packed as it appears on television. While emergencies certainly happen, sometimes the most important thing you can do is listen, provide comfort, and support patients as they cope with acute or chronic medical conditions.

Julian’s favorite part about being a member of Blooming Grove Volunteer Ambulance Corps is the people. Everyone takes pride in being part of this organization, and that sense of dedication and commitment is contagious.

When Julian is not busy with BGVAC, nursing school, or working at St. Anthony Community Hospital, he enjoys spending time at the gym, hanging out with friends, and cheering on his favorite baseball team, the New York Mets.

This month for our Member Spotlight, we’re proud to spotlight Paramedic Liz Trappe.

Liz is a dedicated Paramedic with fifteen years of overall EMS experience and a passion for making a difference when it matters most.

Liz was drawn to EMS because she wanted to be there for people during some of their most vulnerable moments. For her, there’s something incredibly powerful about showing up when someone is scared, in pain, or unsure, and being able to bring both care and calm to the situation. With a long standing interest in medicine and helping others, EMS became the perfect path to combine both in a hands on, meaningful way.

Over the past fifteen years, Liz has grown not only as a clinician, but also as a person. Through every call and every challenge, she has continued to evolve, gaining experience, resilience, and perspective along the way.

On the tough days, Liz stays grounded by remembering why she started. Even when things feel overwhelming, she finds strength in the moments where she knows she made a difference. Whether it’s stabilizing a critical patient or simply offering comfort to someone in need, those moments stay with her. She also credits her crew and the support they provide each other as a key part of getting through difficult shifts.

Outside of work, Liz makes it a priority to decompress and reset. She values time spent with family and friends, getting rest, and doing things that help her mentally separate from the job. On her days off, you’ll often find her enjoying the outdoors or relaxing with a good movie, finding that balance helps her return to work focused and ready.

Thank you Liz, for your dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving others.
