We want to take a moment to celebrate and thank some truly special members of our Blue Jay family. 💙

Congratulations to our retirees, Ms. Kate and Ms. Susan, on their well-earned retirement! Your commitment, care, and dedication to our students have made a lasting impact on West Elementary, and you will be deeply missed.

We also want to recognize Coach Buschmann and Mr. Rick (not pictured) for their years of service and the difference they’ve made in the lives of so many students.

Thank you all for pouring into OUR kids each and every day. Your legacy will continue to live on in our halls.

🥫🏆 Congratulations to our Group A Champions, Washington West Elementary in Missouri! 🏆🥫

With just 57 can captians, they recycled an incredible 82,390 cans that’s 1,445 cans per student 🤯♻️

This year, we split our 56 schools into 4 groups and separated schools from the same state into different groups so they could compete against schools in other states for a 💰 $1,000 prize. The school with the most cans per student won!

Amazing job to all 14 Group A schools that helped recycle a total of 614,320 cans for the planet! 🌎💚

We want give special recognition to the 18 students accepted into the Art show this weekend!
These selected artists attended a fancy private showing last night at the Gallery with their family, they met and hung out with established artists working in the area, and were presented with a certificate, an art show t-shirt, and gift certificates to Neighborhood Reads bookstore and The Alley!

The show will be open 10-4 all weekend so please come see our talented friends!

💙Poll results are in… and we’ve got an answer! 💙

If you guessed our students… you were right! 👏

♻️ 2,354 pounds of aluminum cans
👟 3,784 pounds of third graders

Our third graders take the win! 💪

Thanks to everyone who voted and had some fun with us—and an even bigger thank you to our amazing Blue Jay community for helping us collect all those cans. What an incredible effort!

Thank you to Nickoli from Washington High School for coming in and teaching Ms. Carter’s class about what you learned at Earth’s Classroom. Students learned about different birds, bird behavior and then went on a bird watching walk to identify birds around the school. The students loved it!
