In 1995, Dolly Parton started mailing books to children in her home county to inspire children to love reading in honor of her dad, who couldn’t read or write.

That idea lives here too. Every month, thanks to a partnership with Headwaters, the Rappahannock County Public Education Foundation, Inc. and the library, more than 100 children in Rappahannock County find a book in the mailbox — because of neighbors who fund it, volunteers who run it, and a woman from Sevier County, TN who started it all.

Thank you, Dolly. We will always love you.

Kids - bring your reading log to collect your incentives, including a free kid's meal at The Black Twig and a book to keep.
Adults - submit your tiny book reviews this week for a chance to win gift baskets or gift cards.

🎉 Big news at the library! 🎉
Please help us celebrate our FIRST EVER KID LIBRARIAN, Bailey! 📚✨
Bailey joined our team on Wednesday and jumped right into action. Here is a look at her busy day:
• 📖 Story Time: Read stories and helped with craft time.
• 📚 Book Display: Created a custom display packed with great reads (come check it out!).
• 📝 Collection Development: Shared awesome purchase suggestions for new books.
• 💼 Circulation Desk: Helped check out books and assist our patrons.
• 🎁 Library Swag: Left with some well-deserved library goodies.
Bailey was an absolute superstar and a huge help to both our staff and patrons. We wouldn't be surprised at all to see Bailey working in a library one day—she is a natural! 🌟

Join us for Preschool Story Time with a fun sand art craft at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 15. Meal Boxes and Summer Reading Program incentives will be available for pick up from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow.
