Operation Greenlight was instituted this year by the Association of Indiana Counties, to acknowledge our Veterans across the state for their service and sacrifices, by lighting County Government buildings in green light. Opening today! Your new Daviess County Government Center. Now located here are; the County Assessor, Recorder, Treasurer, Surveyor, Auditor, Health, Weights & Measures, and Extension offices. The Courthouse will remain a Judiciary Building (Everything associated with the Courts) Come check out your new building! 8am-4pm daily

Exciting day today, as we break ground for the new Courthouse Annex.

Daviess County Courthouse has 4 brand-new, lighted, clocks! It's been a long-time coming. A lot of searching for parts and trying to save the old ones, to no avail. All four glass faces were broken into pieces, but, held in place by time-yellowed plexiglass. The shafts and bushings were worn beyond repair. The wiring had disintegrated years ago. After securing the funding, and touring a family-owned clock company, 'Americlock' was commissioned to manufacture replicas of the old ones. And, for the past two days we've been working to install them, so if you're out, drive by the Courthouse and view your new lighted clocks. I'd like to thank James and Alan Androuais and fabricators at Americlock. Their craftsmanship is second to none. Our clocks look awesome. A BIG thank-you to Electrician, Kevin Stoll, of 'Stoll Electric and Home Improvements' for your generous help and skill set. Also, thanks to Pat Kelly and Joe Schnarr for volunteering to help out and run down parts. Thank-you gentleman for working in terrible weather and making this happen. Now, our clocks will last another 100 years. One more project off the to-do list!
