National Flag Day!

Today we honor the American flag and the shared commitment to caring for our communities. Public health helps strengthen our nation by promoting healthy lifestyles, preventing illness, and supporting the safety and well-being of all families.

As we celebrate National Flag Day, remember these healthy summer reminders:
โ˜€ Protect your skin with sunscreen and shade
๐Ÿ’ง Stay hydrated during outdoor events
๐Ÿšฒ Practice bike and road safety
๐ŸฆŸ Prevent bug bites with insect repellent
โค๏ธ Support neighbors, friends, and loved ones by checking in and staying connected

Working together to protect health and safety helps build stronger communities for everyone.

๐Ÿ  Protect Your Family from Lead Hazards ๐Ÿ

Did you know that lead exposure can cause serious health problems, especially for young children and pregnant women? The EICOG Lead Hazard Reduction Grant Program helps eligible homeowners and renters reduce lead-based paint hazards and create safer, healthier homes.

Lead can be found in homes built before 1978 and may be present in peeling paint, dust, and soil. Exposure can affect a child's growth, learning, and behavior, making prevention an important public health priority.

โœ… Improve home safety
โœ… Reduce lead exposure risks
โœ… Protect children's health and development
โœ… Support healthier living environments

If you live in an older home, you may qualify for assistance through the EICOG Lead Hazard Reduction Grant Program.

For more information about eligibility and available services, contact EICOG today.

๐ŸŒŽ๐Ÿ’š Happy World Environment Day!

A healthy environment is essential for healthy people. Clean air, safe drinking water, nutritious food, and green spaces all play an important role in protecting public health and improving quality of life.

This World Environment Day, consider small actions that can make a big impact:
โ™ป Reduce, reuse, and recycle
๐Ÿšถ Walk or bike when possible
๐Ÿ’ง Conserve water and energy
๐ŸŒณ Plant trees and support green spaces
๐Ÿšฏ Help keep our community clean and litter-free

By caring for our environment, we help prevent illness, protect natural resources, and create a healthier future for everyone.

Together, we can build a cleaner, safer, and healthier community! ๐ŸŒ
