A heartfelt THANK YOU to Girl Scout Troop 90 GSHNJ for their incredibly thoughtful donation!

These amazing young women put together beautiful purses filled with essential toiletries β€” body wash, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, and more β€” for the survivors we serve.

This is what leadership, compassion, and community service look like in action! We are so proud of these girls and so grateful for their kindness. Donations like these make a real and meaningful difference in the lives of those we support.

Thank you, Troop 90 β€” you are truly making the world a better place, one purse at a time!

✨ We have some INCREDIBLE news to share β€” and an even more incredible woman to celebrate! ✨

We are beyond grateful to Jessica Paseler from Pennsylvania for her absolutely fabulous donation of over 100 gorgeous gowns and formal dresses to DASACC! πŸ‘—

Jessica owned a beautiful dress shop before Covid forced her to close her doors and put everything into storage. After losing her business, she made the most generous and heartwarming decision β€” she chose DASACC to be the home for all of these stunning gowns. Jessica, we are truly in awe of your kindness and your giving heart.

These dresses are absolutely beautiful in every way, and we are so excited to make them available to the women and families we serve. We currently have sizes 2 through 26 β€” something for everyone!

πŸŽ“πŸ‘— ATTENTION PARENTS & GRADS! πŸ‘—πŸŽ“
Do you know a high schooler heading to prom or graduation THIS weekend? Come visit us at Wardrobe of Hope – The Boujee Boutique and find the perfect dress! We are currently rearranging to accommodate these beautiful gowns, so come on in and see what we have!

Please share this post β€” you never know who might need to see it! πŸ’œ

June is National Salsa Month β€” and we're celebrating with a twist. 🌢️

Just like a great salsa, our community is made up of many layers: bold, complex, and better when we show up together.

This month, we're using the spirit of salsa to talk about something that matters deeply to us: creating safe spaces for everyone. Because home should always feel safe β€” and too often, it doesn't.

1 in 4 women and 1 in 9 men experience severe intimate partner violence. This June, we're combining a little heat with a lot of heart.

🌈 Happy Pride Month from DASACC! 🌈

June is here, and with it comes a month of celebration, visibility, and solidarity. At DASACC, we believe that every person β€” regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression β€” deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated.

This Pride Month, we stand alongside our LGBTQ+ community members, staff, allies, and friends. You are valued here. You belong here.

We also know that LGBTQ+ individuals face domestic violence and sexual violence at disproportionate rates β€” and that barriers to seeking help can be even greater. DASACC is here for you, with free and confidential services for all survivors.

Throughout the month, we'll be sharing resources, stories, and ways to get involved. Help us make this Pride Month one to remember.

To our LGBTQ+ community: thank you for your courage, your joy, and your resilience. We see you. We celebrate you. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆβ€οΈ

Introducing: What a Healthy Relationship Looks Like β€” a series from DASACC

This month, we're launching a new series dedicated to one of the most important topics we work with every day: healthy relationships.

We'll be covering everything from communication and trust to red flags, boundaries, and what parents can teach their kids about love and respect. Whether you're in a relationship, supporting someone who is, or raising the next generation β€” this series is for you.

Because healthy relationships don't just happen. They're built β€” with intention, respect, and real effort from everyone involved.

Follow along, share what resonates, and tag someone who might need this.

One of the earliest warning signs of an abusive relationship isn't physical β€” it's control.

Abusive partners often begin by limiting access to friends and family, monitoring phone calls and messages, controlling finances, or making all the decisions in the relationship. These behaviors can feel like concern or protectiveness at first. That's what makes them so difficult to recognize.

Isolation is a strategy. When a person is cut off from their support system, it becomes much harder to seek help β€” or even to recognize that something is wrong.

Warning signs of controlling behavior:
πŸ”Ή Constantly monitoring your whereabouts
πŸ”Ή Criticizing or discouraging your relationships with others
πŸ”Ή Controlling access to money, transportation, or communication
πŸ”Ή Making you feel responsible for their emotions or behavior
πŸ”Ή Telling you who you can see, where you can go, or what to wear

If any of this feels familiar β€” for yourself or someone you care about β€” support is available. DASACC serves Warren County with free, confidential advocacy 24 hours a day.

05/30/2026

Boundaries are not walls. They're not unkind. And they're not something a loving partner will consistently push against.

In healthy relationships, boundaries are respected β€” even when they're inconvenient. In abusive relationships, boundaries are tested, ignored, or used against you.

What boundaries look like in practice:
πŸ”Ή "I need time with my friends without my partner questioning it."
πŸ”Ή "I'm not comfortable with that, and my partner accepts it."
πŸ”Ή "I can share my opinion without it leading to an argument."
πŸ”Ή "I don't have to justify who I talk to or where I go."

When someone repeatedly crosses your boundaries β€” especially after you've expressed them clearly β€” that's not a communication problem. It's a respect problem. And it can be a warning sign.

Learning to recognize, name, and enforce your own limits is part of building a life that feels safe. You are allowed to have needs. You are allowed to protect them.

If someone in your life consistently disregards your limits, DASACC's advocates are here to help you think through your options.
