Optimist Club of Washington, Iowa Inc. The Optimist Club of Washington is a group of people who have goals to see the needs of our youth. We welcome you to come be a part of our organization.

We meet the 2nd and 4th Tuesday morning at 6:30 at the Washington YMCA. Our focus is to find ways to meet the needs of the youth in our community. Our service projects include placing the flags on National holidays, Youth Achievement Banquet, Blood Drives, roadside cleanup along with youth activities.

Celebrating an outstanding young leader in our community! 🌟

The Optimist Club of Washington was proud to recognize our Student of the Year, Calle Schiebel during the Youth Appreciation Awards Night at the basketball game last night! 🏀

During halftime, club President Duane Hammen had the honor of presenting this special award in front of a gym filled with family, friends, and community members. It was a wonderful opportunity to highlight the hard work, character, leadership, and dedication this student brings to our schools and community every day.

To make the evening even more fun, Optimist members handed out 270 bags of popcorn to fans as we celebrated our amazing youth! 🍿

Congratulations to our Student of the Year — we are so proud of you and grateful for the positive impact you make in Washington, Iowa! 💙
