Washington County Department of Human Services is a unified system of support for individuals and families in Washington County, PA that aims to promote self-sufficiency and improve their quality of life. The Washington County Department of Human Services is comprised of Aging Services, Behavioral Health and Developmental Services, Children and Youth Services, Veterans Affairs, Housing and Homelessness Coordinator, Centralized Intake/Help Center, Clinical Unit, and Care Management Unit.

Our newly certified CIT trainers Kim and Bethany are pictured below with 24 CIT students who completed CIT class last week!

CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) training is an intensive 40-hour education program that brings together police officers, mental health and substance use professionals, people with lived experience and community members with the goal to make sure people who have a mental health crisis get help safely and quickly.

McGuffey’s Tackling Hunger Football Food Drive on 10/23.

Mrs. Mulvihill and her NHS students collected several non-perishable food items and monetary donations both in school and at Friday evenings football game and as a result were able to donate several boxes of food and raise $268 for the McGuffey Food Pantry. The students had their picture taken with long time McGuffey Food Pantry Coordinator Connie Dorsey (left) who has managed the food pantry for 34 years.
