WVFD thanks the many supporters, friends, and family who turned out for last night's 100th Anniversary Parade. We are especially grateful to the dozens of CT fire departments and bands whose participation made this event possible.

A century is a significant milestone for any volunteer organization. For us, however, the real celebration was our shared respect for the traditions of the fire service and our mutual commitment to our communities. We look forward to the next century of protecting and serving each other.

At 03:46AM WVFD responded to a structure fire in Roxbury, joining mutual aid companies from Northville, New Milford, Bridgewater, Bantam, Southbury, Woodbury, Brookfield, and Sandy Hook. Washington’s Engine-5 (photo) established water supply from a nearby pond, while Tanker-6 and Tanker-7 ferried water.

One day away from our 100th anniversary parade and Washington Business Association annual block party! The parade line up has grown to a LARGE number of units now. A few quick things for tomorrow:

LINE UP: Officially begins at 4pm from 62 Bee Brook Rd. past 109 Bee Brook Rd. The parade route will be closed to traffic at 6:30pm.

TRAFFIC: Due to the block party starting at 5pm in Washington Depot we’re recommending fire apparatus come into the line up from the Rt 202 side of Rt 47 if possible.

ANTIQUE APPARATUS: There will be a group photo with antique fire apparatus and our E1 at 5:30pm in front of the Depot Firehouse.

SHUTTLE BUS: For marchers only, the Town of Washington bus will be running from 4:30pm-6pm for marchers parking behind Washington Primary School- 11 School St.

STEP OFF: 6:45pm with a Cannon fire start from Bee Brook Rd.
