In our turbulent times, it’s critical we honor those who put service and sacrifice above self.

This year’s 11th grade recipients of my Citizenship Award for School and Public Service embody that spirit every day. I’m proud to uplift this next generation of leaders.

Congresswoman Frederica Wilson has been a champion of South Florida over her entire career.

As an educator and principal, or on the School Board, the Florida House and Senate, and in Congress, she's been there for our community. With the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project, her Commission on the Social Status of Black Men and Boys, and endless work to create jobs and lower costs for working families, she's been a giant in Miami.

I'll miss working with my friend, my former Tallahassee and DC housemate, and her iconic sense of style. I wish her the best in whatever comes next.

A privilege to celebrate the extraordinary graduates from Urban League of Broward County's Youth Hate Crime Education and Prevention Program.

Programs like this empower young people to recognize and challenge hate, reject prejudice, and be vital school and community leaders.

More than 145,000 U.S. citizen children have had a parent detained, most of them 12 years old or younger.

Trump’s immigration policy is separating American families.

With 400,000 immigrants detained by the administration, researchers examine what the data reveals about the children left behind and the policy implications for their well-being.
