A very meaningful reunion in New York on the 25th anniversary of September 11.
Retired Monaco firefighters Philippe Bosio and Jean-Christophe Cotta returned to New York to pay tribute to the victims and first responders of 9/11.
In the weeks following 9/11, as Monaco’s Consul General in New York, I was privileged to help mobilize Monaco’s response and work closely with New York City officials, an effort that culminated in Prince Albert presenting Mayor Giuliani with more than $700,000 for the Twin Towers Fund.
They first came to New York in 2002 for the first anniversary of the attacks. That is when we met — and we have remained in touch ever since.
It was especially moving to see them back in New York, honoring the same spirit of courage, solidarity and remembrance that brought us together all those years ago.
We will never forget.
