A very meaningful reunion in New York on the 25th anniversary of September 11.

Retired Monaco firefighters Philippe Bosio and Jean-Christophe Cotta returned to New York to pay tribute to the victims and first responders of 9/11.

In the weeks following 9/11, as Monaco’s Consul General in New York, I was privileged to help mobilize Monaco’s response and work closely with New York City officials, an effort that culminated in Prince Albert presenting Mayor Giuliani with more than $700,000 for the Twin Towers Fund.

They first came to New York in 2002 for the first anniversary of the attacks. That is when we met — and we have remained in touch ever since.

It was especially moving to see them back in New York, honoring the same spirit of courage, solidarity and remembrance that brought us together all those years ago.

We will never forget.

A very special celebration of Princess Grace and the enduring friendship between Monaco and the United States, as seen on Monaco Info 🇲🇨🇺🇸: https://youtu.be/eHmAf-GHP7I

Following an intimate dinner at the Residence, we gathered at the Smithsonian for Princess Grace: Celebrating an Enduring Legacy, part of America’s 250th anniversary celebrations.

This year also marks 70 years since the marriage of Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier III and 20 years since the opening of Monaco’s Embassy in Washington.

A particularly meaningful moment was the dedication of the restored historic Swan Bench in the Smithsonian’s Rose Garden — creating a permanent public tribute to Princess Grace in the heart of Washington.

From Philadelphia to Monaco, her legacy continues to bring our two countries together.

At his 8th “Just Because” dinner in August, food journalist Tom Sietsema gathered 8 people from different walks of life for an evening of great food, wine, & company .

They included Geoff Freeman, CEO of the US Travel Association; Carla Hall, cook book author & familiar face on multiple TV food shows; leading GOP strategist, Doug Heye, D.C photographer, Deb Lindsey; realtor Andrea Reid; Andy Brown, the visionary behind Andy’s Pizza; & Monaco’s Ambassador Maguy Maccario Doyle.

The reason? “Just because. We all need more joy in our lives. And it’s fun to break bread with new people.” Tom says he also wants engaged people to meet kindred spirits & support local D.C. restaurants.

Illumination of the Prince’s Palace – 250th Anniversary of the Independence of the United States 🇺🇸

To mark the 250th anniversary of the independence of the United States of America, H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince has exceptionally authorized the illumination of the Prince’s Palace in the colors of the American flag on the evening of Saturday, July 4.

This initiative forms part of the celebrations taking place around the world at the invitation of the Office of the Chief of Protocol of the United States to commemorate this historic anniversary and highlight the bonds of friendship that unite the United States with its international partners.

Through this symbolic gesture, the Principality of Monaco wishes to pay tribute to a defining moment in American history and reaffirm the depth of the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Monaco and the United States.

The year 2026 holds special significance in the history of relations between the two countries. It marks both the 20th anniversary of the opening of the Embassy of Monaco in Washington, D.C., and the 70th anniversary of the marriage of Prince Rainier III and Princess Grace, whose union helped forge enduring and privileged ties between the Principality and the United States.

The illumination of the Prince’s Palace stands as a lasting symbol of the friendship between the Principality of Monaco and the United States, while recalling the historic, human, and cultural ties that have brought the two nations together for generations.
